A word from the founder
Our journey began way back in September 2016 when I made a decision to leave my 8-year human rights career and chose to walk the social entrepreneur. My passion was to create a sustainable social business. At the time when I worked as a human rights researcher, I had had great experiences advocating for the rights of the marginalized in society through policy and legislative advocacy but somehow along the way I noticed there was a huge gap between policy and practice.
Our primary beneficiaries are women and youth already belonging to VSLAs and are either running a businesses or wish to start one within a community where they live.
Our secondary beneficiaries are young men and girls who get employed as farm managers, shop attendants, sales agents and immediate family members like children whose school fees is paid by business owners who are mainly mothers.
Our entrepreneurs are women and young people living in rural and remote areas who cannot access any form of financial services from either commercial banks or microfinance institutions to start local businesses because they lack collateral.
